QUESTIONS ABOUT RESERVATIONS
AND CANCELLATIONS
How do I know you have a boat available?
If you reserve several days or more in advance we probably have
the boat you want available. We recommend you send in your reservation
complete with your credit card information and if the boat you want
is not available we will call and tell you what boats are available.
So be sure to include your phone number on your reservation form.
Is it possible to make a fishing
reservation when I get to Cancun or Cozumel?
We do recommend you make your fishing reservations as far in advance
as possible so that you are sure to get a boat. During the high
season from January to August there are many times we have no space
available 2-3 days in advance. To make your reservation once you
arrive in Cancun call us at 898-4312 or if you are outside Cancun
or on Cozumel call us at 01-998-898-4312, and from the states 1-800-860-5917.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel any trip up to 24 hours before departure and only
pay a 5% administrative processing fee. If the trip is cancelled
because the port is closed by the port captain due to weather then
you will receive a 100% refund.
Cancellation and Change Policy.
When I reserve do I get the boat
I choose?
Yes. That is why we put the pictures of the boats and a list of
equipment on the website. So you can choose and reserve what you
want. Of course the further in advance you make your reservation
the better the chance you will get the boat you want.
What if the boat I want is not
available?
We will call you or email you and recommend a comparable boat -
if available - before we charge your credit card and make your reservation.
Is the pricing on the website
correct?
Yes. The prices are accurate and complete meaning that there are
no additional charges. At the end of the trip a tip is optional
but generally a tip of 10% - 15% of the charter depending on how
successful your crew was for you.
I send in a reservation with my
credit card and what happens?
Once you send a reservation we confirm that there is the boat available
for the day(s) you want. Then we charge your card the entire amount
shown on the website. We then put a confirmation number on a coupon
or voucher and send it to you in an email. You print it and that
is your paid receipt for the tour. You present the coupon at check
in.
Should I send in my credit card
with the reservation?
Yes because you have a much better chance of getting the boat you
want the less time that goes by before the departure. If there is
no space available we will not charge your credit card but advise
when the boat is available closest to the date you want or recommend
an alternate boat of similar specifications. If you send in a reservation
form without a credit card number inquiring about availability then
we respond, and you respond, simply more time passes giving more
time to fill up. Again once you are ready to reserve it is best
to send your reservation with a credit card. Please remember no
reservation is made until we have payment via your credit card or
by other means.
How can I check the status of
my reservation?
It is our objective that you know what is happening with your reservation.
We will send you an update if we are going to be than 48 hours getting
you a response. If 48 hours has gone by and you have gotten no update
or coupon please call 1-800-860-5917 from the USA and Canada or
+52-998-898-4312 from the rest of the world. If you are already
in Cancun our local number is 898-4312 and if you are outside Cancun
dial 01-998-898-4312.

QUESTIONS ABOUT TRANSPORTATION,
THE MARINA AND DEPARTURE – COZUMEL
Where is the dock or marina in
Cozumel?
When you reserve we will send you a map of where to go from the
cruise ship docks or your hotel.
What time do we need to be at
the Cozumel dock?
As we have flexible schedules it depends on you. You need to know
when you ship arrives and then allow time to get off the ship and
about 15 minutes of travel time to get to the departure dock. As
you have chartered the boat do not worry we will wait for you, as
we know it can be tricky getting off the cruise ships in a timely
manor. Also when you reserve you will receive a coupon with all
the needed information including on how to get to the marina dock.
Do you provide transportation
from my Cozumel Cruise Ship dock or my Cozumel hotel to the marina
dock?
No we do not have that service available in Cozumel. Taxis are plentiful
in Cozumel and you will not have a problem. Also they all know where
the marina is located so do not worry. You can also negotiate for
the taxi to come back and pick you up at the appointed return time
if you like.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE
BOATS
How many people can go on the boat?
It depends on the boat. You will notice above the price of each
boat the maximum number of passengers that that craft will accommodate.
The price does not change with the number of passengers. If there
is one person or the limit of the boat the price is the same. The
only reason we ask is because we need to know how much water, beer,
soft drinks and food to put on board the boat.
Do you have English speaking captains?
Our captains and crew speak at least “fishing English.”
The language will not be a problem.
Do the boats have a bathroom on
board?
Yes, our luxury fishing boats are more than fully equipped.
Do I need to bring anything?
As far as fishing tackle is concerned you do not need to bring anything.
We provide all tackle needed.
We do recommend you bring a hat and sunglasses and sun block.
Food is provided, however feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
You may also want to bring liquor (beer is included) which is not
included.
Will I get seasick?
Seasickness depends on the individual and the conditions of the
sea the day you go fishing. We recommend that if you do not know
if you get seasick that you take a commercial motion sickness medication
or take Ginger pills, which you can buy at any pharmacy or health
food store in your hometown. You may also want to use the patches
that go behind the ear.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE
FISHING
What can we expect to catch?
What you will catch depends on the time of year you come fishing.
To see the various species that you may catch click
here to see a calendar and click
here for recent catches in our fish pix of the
day section.
Do you do trolling or bottom fishing?
When you charter the boat you decide. We normally recommend a combination
of the two. So if trolling is slow we pull up on the reef and let
you go for groupers and snappers. However the decision is yours.
We want to catch bill fish. What
do you recommend?
First look at the fishing calendar and come when the bill fish are
here.
Second, take an 8 hour charter. You enhance your chances.
Third, tell the captain at check in that your main interest is billfish.
I am interested in the fishing
and snorkeling combination full day charter, can we do that?
Yes, a combo trip is no problem. We will take you fishing and then
snorkeling unless you prefer to snorkel first. Since you want to
snorkel part of the day that limits how far offshore we can go for
your fishing trip so depending on the time of year you come will
determine what fish you can expect to catch Click
here to see the calendar of what you can expect to catch.
How much travel time, non-fishing
time, is there?
The fishing grounds are about 35 to 45 minutes from the dock.
How is the time calculated for
a trip?
The hours of your fishing trip are calculated from “dock to
dock.” In other words a 8 hour trip is “8” hours
from the time you leave the dock until you return to the dock.”
What kind of bait do you use?
We use ballyhoo, mullet, and lures. We will vary the baits depending
on the fish available at the particular time of year you go.
Do you catch and release?
Game fish which are not edible (sailfish, and marlin) are released.
I want to mount my catch. Can
I do that?
Yes the staff at the dock will arrange everything for you so that
you can mount your fish and have it shipped.
Is there fly fishing available
from the deep sea fishing boats?
The situation is different here in Cancun that in the Pacific where
you actually spot the fish. Here you hardly ever see the sailfish
- which makes fly fishing for them very difficult. So we do not
offer fly fishing from our deep sea fishing boats. To see our fly
fishing trips click
here.
Is there any freshwater fishing
in Cancun?
No there is no freshwater fishing in Cancun. There is saltwater
deep-sea fishing and shallow water spin tackle fishing. To see shallow
water spin tackle and fly fishing click
here.
Should I tip at the end of the
fishing trip?
Generally a 10% to 15% tip is given if the crew did a good job for
you.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE
FISH WE CATCH
What happens to the fish we catch?
All billfish caught are released. Then we bring them in and they
will be sent away for mounting.
Edible fish are put in the cooler and can be part of your “tip”
for the crew or the crew will gladly filet them for you. Then you
take your catch to your favorite Cancun or Cozumel restaurant for
that evening’s dinner.
We strongly recommend that you take some fish
filets and go to a local restaurant for dinner. The concierge in
your hotel can make restaurant recommendations, the crew at the
dock can make recommendations or call us here at 887-8069
and we will make recommendations. One fun way to end a day of fishing
is to eat your fresh catch. We also recommend that you have the
restaurant prepare you catch 3 different ways. Then you decide which
is your favorite. By the way, your meal will cost about $10-$12
USD per person with side dishes when you bring the fish.
What are the best fish to take
to eat?
The best fish for your dinner will be Dorado (Mahi Mahi,) Wahoo,
King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Snapper, and Grouper. Any of these
will make for an unforgettable dinner.
Can I take fish back to the U.S.
in an ice chest?
You can but we do not recommend it. Since security has been tightened
at all airports worldwide we do not recommend you try to take edible
fish back to the U.S. First the airlines no longer accept Styrofoam
ice chest, and securing dry ice in Cancun will cost you more time
and effort than it is worth. Then you will have delays on arrival
in the U.S. while your baggage is checked.
